Adult Psychological services in Calderdale

Help Calderdale CCG to review adult psychological services

Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is reviewing the adult psychological services it commissions (buys). Psychological services include talking therapies, such as counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and specialist assessments and treatments. The CCG commissions these services from South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SWYPFT) and Insight Healthcare and makes a contribution to services provided by WomenCentre.

The CCG knows it can do better; sometimes people have to wait too long for psychological services and not everybody gets the right service that they need. This needs to change and the CCG will work with local people and its partners to make things better.

The CCG wants people to give their views about its adult psychological services. It wants, in particular, to hear from people who use or who have used psychological services in Calderdale.

The CCG is holding two engagement drop-in sessions where people can come along and talk about their experience of services and ideas for improvements:

  • Monday 9th April  from 1.30pm to 4.30pm at the Shay Stadium, Shaw Hill, Halifax HX1 2YS

  • Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre on Thursday 19th April from 12 noon to 1.30pm

  • Thursday 19th April from 6.00pm to 9.00pm at Todmorden Town Hall, Bridge Street, Todmorden OL14 5AQ

The CCG is also running a survey which can be accessed at www.calderdaleccg.nhs.uk/mentalhealth

The engagement will close at midday on 24th April 2018.

Test Results

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.  It is normally at least one week from the day of the test. If after this time you have not yet heard from the practice, but still have the same problem, please call the surgery after 11am.

You can also check your test results online if you have registered for online access to medical records. (registration forms available at reception).

You will hear from the surgery if your test result is abnormal. If we need to contact you regarding your results we will send a text message or call you. Please make sure your contact details are kept up to date.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results. However they are able to tell you the comments made by your doctor about the results, and any instructions you need to follow. If you need any further clarification please request a telephone appointment with the requesting GP.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
