happy to help with any non-medical problems, or to receive any suggestions or
complaints regarding the service offered by the surgery. Complaints are generally
accepted in a written format.
Nursing Staff
Our practice nurses are available by appointment. They provide a wide range

• Cervical smears, child immunisations, removal of stitches, travel immunisations
and advice (please make an appointment at least 6 weeks before date of travel).
• Nursing clinics also include asthma, COPD, diabetes, contraception, hormone
replacement therapy as well as advice on health promotion.
We also have three health care assistants and two phlebotomist/receptionists.
Reception Staff
The receptionists will assist you in making emergency and routine appointments
to see the doctors or the nurses. They will also give details of how to obtain
repeat prescriptions, answer the telephone and deal with enquiries. They have
a difficult job to do so please be patient. Please ask a receptionist for somewhere
more private if you need to speak to them in confidence. Receptionists are available
to patients from 8.30am until 6.30pm in person or on the telephone.
District Nurses
Our district nurses work closely with the doctors and are able to provide
home nursing and advice about care and convalescence after discharge from hospital.
Health Visitors
The health visitors support individuals and families with a variety of social
and medical problems. They can give expert advice on health care, especially
for children under five and elderly people. They also run the child health clinics
with the doctor.
They will call at your home at the request of our doctors or hospital staff.
