Noticeboard

As of 22nd May 2017, Spring Hall Medical Practice will be working in partnership with Care UK to provide additional telephone calls to our patients and to support our local team and this will improve and increase access to doctors.

The Care UK clinicians will work in exactly the same way as our local clinicians. Medical records will be accessed by Care UK clinicians through a secure network, and your information will not be used by any other third parties.

Patients can ‘Opt-Out’ of the service offered by notifying the practice.

Thank you for your co-operation. We hope you find the new service beneficial.

Contraceptive advice is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours and also by the nurses.

Well Person Clinics

We are keen to promote the health and wellbeing of our patients by offering regular health check-ups and advice on a variety of health matters.

These clinics are run at various times by the nursing staff, with easy access to the doctors, and include important checks for blood pressure and urine testing. Cervical smears, advice on breast self-examination and immunisations are also carried out in these clinics. We also offer lifestyle advice on weight control, diet, smoking, alcohol consumption and stress reduction.

Health Checks

All new patients are requested to attend a new patient health check (please bring a sample of urine) - this enables us to obtain details of your past medical problems and to provide better care. We also offer health checks for patients over 75 years of age.

Blood Pressure Tests

There is a machine in both Spring Hall Surgery and the Boots branch for routine blood pressures and also for when a GP has requested a re-check. These are very easy to use and reception staff can assist if necessary. All results will be passed to your GP.

Cryotherapy

Usually held on the afternoon of the first Tuesday of the month, for the treatment of minor skin complaints such as warts, verrucae and skin tags. Please make an appointment with the doctor first for assessment.

Smokers who wish to stop can see the HCA for advice and help. Pharmacological help such as nicotine patches or tablets may be prescribed. Appointments can be made without seeing the doctor first.
